It can still be used. The opening has a protruding male snap that prevents it from opening (please use with caution). Other signs of use include rubbed and stained (inner, billfold, coin pocket, and other pockets), frayed (bottom corners), bald metal, wrinkles (top of billfold), cracked edges, cracks (near corners and under the flap), and peeling (coin pocket gusset length).
